Early Life
Armanda Begaj was born in Tirana on 12 July 1968.
She studied at the University of Tirana, earning a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics in 1990 and another bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 2011.
Her professional career began in education. From 1990 to 2002, she worked as a mathematics teacher in basic education. She later moved into information technology, working with Albania’s State Supreme Audit from 2002 to 2021 and subsequently with the Financial Supervision Authority.
Family Life
Armanda Begaj married Bajram Begaj in 1992. The couple have two sons, Dorian and Klajdi.
Despite her husband’s rise through the Albanian military and eventually to the presidency, Armanda maintained a largely private family life. Her background as a wife, mother, educator, and professional has strongly influenced the way she approaches her public responsibilities.
Becoming First Lady
On 24 July 2022, Bajram Begaj was inaugurated as President of Albania, and Armanda Begaj became First Lady.
Her arrival in the role marked the beginning of a more visible chapter in her public life. She has since accompanied the President on international state visits, including engagements in Europe and the Middle East, while also undertaking her own activities within Albania.
